Question EEL TRAPS/POTS...i.e.ketchin'snotsnakes

Dat big eel dat I accidently caught was da bomb...caught fish/never came off the hook(tough as nails)...cut it in cookie sized chunks after freezin' it.Any body know a proven method to ketch dem snotsnakes in volume(traps,etc.)I know ya can buy them(EELS),but,thought I'd pick yall's collective brains.Lil' help?

You can catch eels in a "standard" minnow trap. You just can't leave 'em in there, 'cause they (unlike minnows) can get out. Most everyone I know that traps eels uses a blue crab for bait. Place trap under a dock or other shallow water, shaded location, and you'll catch eels... I'll see if I can get a mess of them frozen for you.

Train ,you Using Them Snotty Things Up On You Home Pond,we Caught Some At Santee On Herring And Treble Hooks.those Things Will Mess A Hook, Line And Sinker Up Man.i'v Never Tried Them On Hartwell ,you Think Its Worth A Try.

They sure are a knot waitin' to happen,when fishin' 'em live.I've used 'em for stripers at Cape Hatteras for Stripers.Had a bud bring some home from the island one time to try on the stripers here.I found that I caught more cats on big chunks of 'em than livelinin' 'em for Mr. Linesides.Caught a huge one(4')a while back and froze it,and then fished it on jugs.It will not come of your hooks.
Tough as nails and snotty,too...what a combo(only catchasers can appreciate dat one!!)
