Fellow waders, stingray protection or shuffle?

When you go wadefishing in the summer what is your level of protection from stingray?

I have tried the ray guards over my boots and they are alright but not as comfy as I'd like. I just have a pair of shimano boots i've had for a while and I don't move really fast when I'm wading so I'm careful.

I do the shuffle, but lately I've been thinking real hard about getting some form of protection and unfortunately I only start thinking about it right when I get in the water for a wade. I had a pair of full boots I brought to Chandelieur about 6 years ago, wore them for 20 minutes and returned them the second I got back from the trip, way too uncomfortable.

Been to lazy to go get any ray gaurds, but I really don't wade that often so I just shuffle when I do.

Fish

use a pair of hodgeman 2nd series stingray boots, once you see somebody get really hit , it just don't make sense not to wear a boot of some sorts,
Its kind like the seat belt deal or the kill switch laynard, if you don't wear them they don't do you any good

Ok, Do a poll asking how many people that have been stung still don't wear the boots and guards.
