Questions about the Big Trout Tourny tomorrow?

Hey guys I posted about the Texas Marine Big Trout Tournament over in the upcoming events forum but I wanted to open up this thread so that I could answer as many logistical questions about the tournament as possible.

Who's coming?

Here is the post from the Upcoming Events forum:

This weekend, Saturday May 5, 2007 Texas Marine will be holding their annual Big Trout Tournament at the Kemah Boardwalk!

There will also be a lot of money and prizes given away.

The largest trout weighed in during the day will win a brand new 2007 Ranger boat with a Yamaha outboard and a McClain trailer.

There will also be hourly prizes given to the largest trout weighed in during that hour. First place each hour wins $500 cash, 2nd place $300 & third place $200.

Tournament Entry is only $99 and it will be a great family outing.

Fishing will take place anywhere in the Galveston Bay Complex during 6:30am & 3:30pm. There is no need to check in before you start fishing, just be in line at the weigh in by 3:30pm.

You can also sign up online at http://www.texasmarine.com/content.asp?cpid=5149& as well as find out all the other info.

Hope to see y'all out there. Please feel free to post up or PM me with any specific questions you might have.

It's not too late! Weather looks great tomorrow, aside from a little wind.

We'll be there. How easy is it to get dock space to tie up and weigh in?

6:30am

There was a misprint on the flyers that said both 6 & 6:30. There will be a shotgun start on 790AM if you want to be exact.

There will be about 100 yards of docking space and we're putting out about 50 cleats this afternoon on the bulkhead next to the Aquarium restaurant. From the time you tie up, weigh in and get back in your boat it should only be a 15 minute ordeal.

You can also drive in by trailer and there will be a designated lane for tournament guys in the parking lot where the little ferry pontoon boat runs across. Tournament fishermen will have priority if there is a line so you can get directly across to the weigh in.

We are setting it up exactly like the Redfish Cup tournament runs out of there and they have had good luck with the set up. We're tryng to make it as easy as possible for the fisherman and if there is anything else we can do please let us know.

We can't wait to see y'all out there tomorrow!

Hey Tx,

Here is a question... If you weigh in for an hourly prize. Do you still have to hang out till the end of the hour.. With the docking space situation there, i would think you would want people out of there quickly for the room...

Also, is the docking space just for people in this tourney, or are the normal boating party crowd going to be able to dock there

Thomas
