Got my Scorpion Mg1000

Bought NIB off ebay and arrived today. The Japan version of the 50mg has the external adjustable cast control and "may have different bearings". I will take it apart tomorrow and coat with Corrosion XD prior to fishing with it. I plan on taking real good care of it. Any comments or advice.

Later, Ken

Cool!

I have had mine for 3 years and it is the best reel I have ever owned... I switched the short handle out for a Carbon fiber one from Japantackle.com...

Enjoy,

Speckwrangler

Wow $98 for a handle. Will it kiss me and tell me how good I was after we get through fishing?

I think i paid $45 for my handle... I went with a 50mg handle.. Mike in friendswood got mine for me... Great reel. Although it corroded like the 50mgs... I got a replacement frame and treated it with corrosion x this time...

You made the right choice IMO. You don't hear of the Scorpion 1000s having corrosion problems.
Had mine a year - light washing after each use and a dab of oil before heading out. Always cast and performs perfect. Currently throwing new Berkley Crystal braid on mine. First braid I have thrown that I did not rip off the reel after trying.

Enjoy it!
