Lake Conroe Crappie Report 1/06/07
Took a short trip from 2 till dark (5:30ish) and we didn't do to well. Ended up only catching about a dozen crappie with 8 being legal to keep.
The water temperature has dropped with all the recent rain runoff from 58 down to 52 degrees. We tried a couple of spots out of the wind off of secondary lake points and came up with nothing so, we went to the tramway north of the 1097 bridge and scratched out the few that we caught battling a moderate wind to hover over structure.
Most of the fish came from 23 feet of water on the top of a ledge holding tight to structure. Minnows out did jigs.
