I have a 2008 Megacab. Leveled & 35's. I get mid 13's on hwy unloaded. 10 with a 12 ft tandem axle trailer & a ranger on it. Buddy of mine get about 15 or so on the hwy unloaded with a 2011 2500 crew cab. The new ones with the 6 speed might do a bit better. The hemi is gonna use some fuel ,BUT so so all the 3/4 tons with gas engines. Just the nature of the beast.
I have a 2011 2500 with the Hemi.On the way home from the dealership with the factory tires I was getting 16 to 18mpg ,after stoping on the way home and having new rims and 305-70-17 mud tires put on it went down to 10-12mpg ,puling the boat around 8-9mpg and 7-8 with a 28'travel trailer.Hope this helps.
Thanks guys ! Look'n at the Crew Cab w/ Short bed.It has 245's on 17" rims...if purchased....I would go up to the 265's once the factory tires need changing.
So, I take it that the 2011's have a 4 or 5 speed tranny ?

2011 is 5 speed. 2012 is 6 speed. Have read on forums the 6 speed is really an improvement. Gonna find out soon myself. LOL!!
Well.....went back to Ford.Got rid of my 05 GMC Ext Cab 4.8L and found a brand new 2011 F250 XL Crew Cab w/ the 6.2L gasser.Guess I'm not gonna worry about mileage...LOL Although the Ford does have a 6 speed tranny The Ford just plain had more room than the Dodge, but rides just as good.
