Using speedy crank Question/Debate

Out of curiousity, if you reeled a swordfish or any fish for that matter...using a speedy crank, would that count towards the hand crank record? My buddies had this debate the other day so I just want to get some opinions. Thanks

Are you talking about one of those things that go on a drill?
If so it wont pass IGFA.

Could be wrong but I thought they were only for picking up baits not actually fighting a fish

You can't use them for fighting the fish. We only use them for retrieving the line when we don't get bit. Using a drill in the fashion would count for IGFA record since you would never use the drill on a drop unless you didn't have a fish on. By the way, get a drill crank from Spooled-up Sportfishing on this site. Their crank is much better than the reel crankie and less expensive.

Thanks for the comments guys. We did catch a sword using the Speedy Crank just to show how strong it is. I think catching a fish using the Speedy Crank would only qualify for the unlimited class record.

Lolz...That's pretty funny. It was a debate for laughs and giggles. Any how, the speedy crank is an awesome tool and my buddies and I have used it to spool at least 20 reels in the past couple of weeks. I can't imagine without it.
