I was there on Good Friday.
I waded while the rest of the boat drifted with live shrimp that morning. Morning was slow, but I managed two 17 inch trout , a nice flounder , and a really small red. Trout hit the Chicken Boy Lemon Pepper Bubba Clucker and the Red/ Flounder engulfed the Strawberry with white tail. Caught those fish in a cove that had mud and shell. Drifters picked up 4 keeper trout.
The moon was pretty full the night before , so I figured they had fed most of that night before.
We went back that afternoon and everyone decided to wade with plastics. (We had two, including an 11 yr old, making their first wade ever). We waded waist deep water (hard sand) and they picked up a couple of trout. I decided to go out about chest deep (I am 6'4) and reeled off 6 straight really good size 19-20 inch fat trout. All of mine were caught on the Down South Chicken of the C. In fact, the same lure caught all six trout. It took a beating and I was really impressed with it holding up. It was my first time using it. They were using a Gambler that had some similar looking colors on it.
I was really happy. Probably the best day I have had throwing plastics and I got to put my new Laguna Liquid rod to the test.
