Rented a house on the arroyo for Easter weekend with another couple as we have in years past, and had a blast.
Night fishing under the lights was dead, kinda strange cause we always hook em' up at night? We didn't stay up too late to wait for the trout to move in since we were fishing off the botes in the AM's
Sunday became purdy windy as the day progressed, but we scratched out a few keepers early: we hit a back bay north toward Mansfield in the late afternoon, the wife hooked up on a big red that ran under the boat on a big run and popped the line. I landed a 23" pig of a trout on that drift though.
High tides had the fish scattered from their usual spots again.
Yesterday's wind was nicer @ 15-18mph SE
And overcast skies made for a pleasant day.
We grinded hard in 2ft of water, nothing but dinks!
We found the fish in 1ft of water tight to the spoils in a backbay, and ended up with a nice box of fish.
All in all a good getaway and a great time.
