New Guy

Hello all.

I've been fishing since I was about 5 years old, now in my early 70's. I used to keep a boat down in Bastrop Bayou for fishing off shore and the Bay system.

Now I've got a kayak that I would like to use down in the Bay system but not sure where it's good to put into and I don't want to interfere with too much boat traffic.

Can anyone part with some suggestions?

Welcome aboard. Yes, stay as shallow as you can most of the time. The marsh in several areas is great for kayaks and for sight casting to reds. The west bay coves, while beautiful will only be productive at certain times of years. There are other marshes that are probably more productive and with less boats too.

you guys still have the house?
