It's a shame . Bank and beach fishing access has become more and more limited . The average Joe family guy has fewer opportunities to take the family fishing . Rollover Pass fishing especially in the fall is an institution.

I have mixed feeling on it. It is sad because it was such a good fishing spot, but I think it's hurt the overall health of East Bay and caused too much erosion. I have a buddy with the Army Corp of Engineers and he seems to think it's all over but the crying.

This topic has been beat like a dead horse but long story short: The pass has allowed saltwater to infiltrate an upper bay system that was for millennia a brackish estuary. It's opening has damaged oyster reef, marsh and allowed thousands of tons of sand to go into East Bay causing erosion and costing taxpayers millions to continually dredge the Intracoastal waterway.

WOW, do they plan to just push the sides in or something? They better start when its low tide and not rushing thru there. Still cant believe it, glad I fished there during spring break, might have been my last. We are headed down in June, hope its still open and not a big az construction site over there.

You're assumimg that theyll start to build the pier right away, or at all.

This is a land grab, pure and simple and the little guy just got hosed.
