Headed down to ULM with the old man.

Looking to have a good weekend on the water with my old man this weekend. Anyone been having any luck in the Upper Laguna Madre area?
I'm more for artificial fishing, but I know the old man likes chunking live shrimp overboard.

Anyone have any good tips for the area?

Been a bit tough with the wind lately but still managing some fish. Fished a little this morning just south of causeway, couple of good reds and a few keeper to good trout on topwaters and soft plastics. Drifts from the icw to king ranch shoreline should produce some fish, water is cleaner towards icw. Seems to be a lot of perch around, shrimp might be tough, take some gulps, next best thing under a popping cork. Good luck. D

If you have Facebook, or visiting their website will do, go check out Texas fishing tips. Obviously personal experience and conditions on the day you fish will affect where and what you target, but those guys do a great job with daily and semi-daily fishing reports from various guides that are illustrated on maps. This will give you a good idea of what people are catching, what bait/lures they are using, and where they are plus what the conditions were like that day. Hope this helps and best of luck!
