Rough fishing today
Made a quick trip this afternoon when I got off work. I already knew the winds were humping before I left the house, so drifting with artificial was out of the question, so I decided to go "old school" today and picked up a quart of live shrimp. If I was smart I would have just took the shrimp home and ate them, because almost everyone was 6" long. Made the long, wet, bumpy ride to somewhat protected water, 5' to 6' deep on heavy shell, and dropped anchor. Rigged up with a size 2 khale hook with a splitshot about 16" above it and went to town. We caught reds, drum, small stingray, and sealice infested gafftop until the bait was gone, which wasn't long because you only get a couple dozen shrimp in a quart when they are that big.
