West Bay 3/25

Fished from around noon til 5 on Saturday. Tried to explore a couple spots that were new to me...ended up hitting some oyster shells with the prop...

So after that I set up some drifts on familiar water and was able to catch fish pretty consistently for about an hour. Caught 5 trout right at 15" and one about 17" that made it to the cooler. I recently purchased my first baitcaster and managed to land an undersized redfish on it so that was fun.

On another note, I've found casting a cork with a gulp out in front of my drift and popping/reeling in slack until I drift to the cork has been pretty successful. Is this the way people generally fish on the drift? My theory is that it gives the fish more time to be attracted by the cork pops.

Way to go dude. I agree with you. I find using a drift sock will help with your cast distance and help with the slack in your line.
Thanks for the good report!!
