Gigging

I see post here on 2 COOL showing individuals gigging Sheephead and Black Drum while gigging flounder. I have looked at TP&W regs. on this and it appears that only non-game fish excluding flounder can be gigged. I am unclear on what is considered a game fish. I see the occasional sheephead while gigging and wouldn't mind having it on my stringer if lawful. Could someone chime in on this with clarification.

Sheephead and Black Drum can be gigged or shot with a bowfishing setup in Texas.

Ok, that's good information. I was uncertain on the drum, as I understood it Black Drum were a subspecies of Red Drum. Thanks.

That is incorrect. Red drum, black drum, croaker, speckled trout and sand trout are all a member of the drum family but a black drum is not a subspecies of red drum.
