Late Report 3.18.17
Started fishing a gut Saturday morning around 8am with hard sand bottom and grass. Lots of mullet and mud minnows present in the water. The birds were flying around but not keying in on any certain area. At 9am a slick popped up farther down the shoreline. I quickly fish toward it and catch a couple rat reds, dink trout and 1 keeper trout. The action stops and I continue wading down the shoreline. After a while I decide to start heading back to the truck around 11:30am. On my way back I decide to stop at a channel going in to the marsh. There is a tern working, a gull hovering around, couple cormorants feeding, and rafts of big mullet balled up on the surface. I make my way to the channel and it's a mud bottom. I can feel the temperature change in water through my waders. On my second cast hook up keeper trout. After that it was pretty steady action. Caught my limit fairly quickly but decided to stay longer since I was having fun. Majority of fish were caught on DSL - Chicken of the C.
