Mineral spirits / Winn grips

Ok so been researching how to upgrade my cork grips to some nice Winn grips and came across "Mineral spirits" to help lube the two sides tape. So what is it exactly? And does anyone know where to buy Winn grips locally ? I'm looking to replace my old cork grips not cover with Winn grip tape, btw.

Mineral spirits is probably available at a paint store or Home Depot. A very knowledgeable rod maker suggested using charcoal lighter fluid to me, and it worked well.
I sprayed some inside the grip and shook around to spread it, and also sprayed onto the double sided tape.
Realize you don't have much working time using this method!

No need to use mineral spirits. Just team and glue your Winn Grips just like any other cork or Eva grip.

Sounds like they want you to do it just like a golf grip. I like Lance's (Swampland) idea.

Don't know about rod grips but do about golf grip. Put the two side tape on the rod (golf club shaft in my case), put a golf tee in the hole in the end of the grip, pour a little mineral spirits or paint thinner or lighter fluid into the grip, swirl it all around inside, pour the liquid over the two side tape, push the grip onto the tape and line it up and let sit until dry. Done.
