Tried East Bay last week with limited success so thought I'd give Chocolate a try yesterday. Despite reasonably good conditions, it was a real grind. Must have moved a dozen times looking for everything to come together. Only picked up an occasional fish, even in places where pelicans were hitting the water and shad were skipping across the water. Ended up with a half dozen rat reds and a half dozen smallish specks - except for one 20.5". Most productive baits were purple/chart DSL's and natural gulp shrimp. Water was high and not a lot of tidal movement through the day. Better than a day at work but it took a zillion casts to put dinner on the table.
