Friend of mine broke two of those both on the first trip out. High sticked one of them but the other just snapped like you said yours did on a cast.

High-sticking is one of the main reasons for rods breaking. Most are broken accidentally in car doors, truck tailgates, ceiling fans, etc.

Yes sir, my favorite one too. It was blowing 30 when I was landing it... ... yeah well, ... Hey Lews are great people and they did actually warranty it even though it was totally my fault... my favorite one is breaking rods when your shoelace gets caught on the reel handle and shoves them up the rod tubes.. that's a fun one right there. LOL.

I went ahead and ordered a second one because I like the rod, action, and feel so much. They have 2 actions in that line up that are bay fishing worthy.. a ML topwater jerkbait rod at 6'8" which is the one Im fish with and a 7'0 med action that would make a great redfish stick or popping cork rod. The rest of the actions are heavier bass tackle options. They have more inshore actions in the Custom Speed Stick line with some specific inshore spec'd rods. I'm going to talk them into making some more inshore actions for the Custom Lite model, helluva stock rod for the price.. 85 million modulus blank, the smallest line guides without going to micro, Winn grips... sweet stick.
