There is a ton of info up here and on tkf. Good article there on what to look for in a kayak in articles section of tkf and a lot depends on you and what you want to do with a kayak.

For the price range (if buying new), I'd recommend the pescador 12', unless you are over ~210lb, at which point the ride will be slightly wet on your rearend (especially once all your gear is loaded.

Not off hand, but if I were serious I would check Craigslist and TKF daily. Those kayaks are some of the most popular and are fairly easy to catch used.
