Kayak

Hey everyone I am new to this forum and new to the fishing world and have been enjoying every minute of it. I'm currently wanting to get a fishing kayak and was hoping I could get any kind of recommendations as to which I should get. Something entry level I suppose. I don't have am arm and a leg to spend on a higher end kayak at the moment. I greatly appreciate in advance.

Craigslist is a good place too to find a used kayak.

The veteran kayakers all seem to use 12-footers. Anything shorter squats in the water too low. The bigger ones like the tandems aren't very maneuverable. Somebody gave us a Cabo tandem at least 15 feet long, and we have fished the marsh with that. Surely a used, 12-foot plastic boat doesn't cost too much.

Short and wide is slow. Long and skinny is faster. I run a 15' and would buy an 18' in a heartbeat.

You don't want a 10'er. Get at least 12. 13 is better and 14 is Best. A 10'er you will wear yourself out trying to cover any ground. 10'er is good for surf and that is about it.
