Matagorda diversion channel

Anyone went thru it into west Matagorda bay with the low tides? Is it make able in a shallow running boat? Tide is really low today

I avoided it yesterday just for that reason. In a couple of places it is only 12" deep at regular tide height.

Thanks for the replies. Tide was still low today. So low I couldn't get my boat of the slings, my cable wasn't long enough to get the backend floating. Took the jeep down the beach and cut across to east bay. We limited on reds

Since the spring tides are here, has anyone run out of the channel lately? Also, I assume it is still marked where you hug the poles on your left as you are headed south into the bay? Is there room for two boats to pass each other coming and going? Thanks in advance.

It's good, especially if you have a shallow running boat. Went out last week, no prob and heading out tomorrow

Two boats should be ok. It's marked good. The shallowest spot seems to be towards the end going out (last 3 or 4 poles).

we went through it this past weekend 3/17, 2 gulf coast tunnel boats went through it, my buddy messed with the jack plate alittle bit because it did get real skinny, i would say no more than 8-10in when we went through it.
