Follow the baitfish/prefish. The predator fish won't be far behind.

I would head south and fish along the King Ranch Shore line in the Laguna. Estes is full of boats now and will be until late in the fall. Top water bite might be scarce on the flats. If you want to come north of CC, then Shamrock, and East Flats areas would be a consideration.

I would not fish with shrimp. Perch and bait thieves have moved back into the bays. Finger mullet, pin perch, etc if you fish bait. Plastics and suspending lures will work. Water along the KRS will be shallow grass. Fish the pot holes and look for active mullet. Reds and specks wont be far away.

As much wind as we have had, fishing top waters will be very hard because of all the grass floating on the water.
