Help needed with Garmin Echomap 70S

Can I have both a freshwater chip & a saltwater chip in at the same time since it has 2 slots?
If so hows does the unit differentiate between the 2? What is the correct procedure to do?
Thx in advance

I would think it does not need to differentiate between the two, they do not have overlapping info and should be plenty of room in memory for both. Call Garmin at 1 (800) 800-1020.
