Working from home on the computer.

I went through a long test / application and now they want me to send them a link to an internet speed test site.

This is what resulted

42 PING ms
63.06 Download mbps
5.69 Upload mbps

Any ideas if this would be sufficient speed?

For most types of work, that should be plenty. Most types include....logging into your company's servers via VPN, using the company apps, working with files on the company network, emails, video conferencing, etc.

X2. Plenty fast, unless their applications are graphic intensive.

The down is fine, the up is bad

You won't have any problem getting data from them the problem will be getting data to them .

The up is how long it takes you to move data back to them.

Depends on what you will be doing. For most things I believe the down is fast enough. If you are going to be uploading a lot, the upload speed is slow. Also be aware that some ISPs limit total bandwidth. I.e. After 20GB are transferred in a month, they start throttling the speeds. Also check your term of service for what they consider personal use. I.e. ISP might force you into a business class of service.

I work a lot from home and my down is 124 and up is 12. I do a lot of video conferencing though which is where I need the extra speed. If you are just doing regular stuff including VOIP some of the new real time collaboration technology, your speeds should be fine.

We are rural and only have DSL. 7 up/.5 down (on a good day). This works but barely. My VOIP struggle sometimes.

You should be fine. Are they offering you a full VDI virtual desktop environment ie citrix ? I used to do work for .gov and would run citrix encapulated in an VPN over a tethered phone since we are out in the country and internet is ***.. Way more than enough if you are doing IPSEC or SSL vpn and just ssh access. The problem you may encounter is not the internet connection but if they ship you a work laptop . It will be a useless brick if you are not connected to their corporate VPN. Also keep in mind they will have group policies and most likely funnel all of your http/https traffic through their web proxies too when you on their lappy if they give you one.
