Chocolate/West Bay

With the forecast north wind yesterday I decided to give the lower end of Chocolate and the north shore of West Bay a shot. Was late getting on the water and found (as expected) the entire upper Chocolate was fresh so I just kept motoring. When I found good water finally, I stopped where I saw slicks popping up. Went to tails without any success but noticed a fair amount of bait scattering and an occasional blow up and thought, could there be a mid-day topwater bite???? Put on a beat up topwater and that was the trick. Had a blast on tops until early afternoon and then the birds started working and found a smorgasbord of specs, reds and lady fish under the birds.

Used a gulp shrimp (molting) on a 1/8" jig head around the birds. Tried same when the top water bite was dying off and caught specs but only small ones. Much larger fish on the topwater. Strong outgoing tide all day long, helped by the north wind, I'm sure.

Though I love to wade, the man in the gray suit was enjoying the topwater action enough to make me at least think twice!!

Treated to a spectacular sunset on the way in to top off a very nice day.

Anybody tell me how to rotate images??? The sunset picture came in upside down!!!

To rotate photos on an iPhone open the photo and look on the screen for a button that looks like three horizontal lines with circles on each. Press that and you'll get an edit menu. You'll see a button with opposing arrows around a box. That is the crop and rotate button.
