does anyone know....

Does anyone know if a one piece rod be made into a two piece rod? If so, who would I use?

I probably could buy a two piece easier but the better rods seem to one piece these days.

it could be done but would make it much shorter since one end has to be big enough foe the other to slip in. two piece rods are designed to be just that...call billystix to see what he thinks, hes got some new two piece blanks

I had a good rod break in half a few years ago when a tackle bag fell off the seat on top of the rod while fishing. Seeing that it broke right in the middle, I took it to FTU and they were able to put an adapter on each end and make it function like a two piece rod. It was a 7' rod and in order for it to work as a two piece rod, it was about 6' 9". Worked great until I broke it again, lol.

Here's a link to buy the ferrules to fix your rod. keep in mind the addition of these will change the action or feel of the rod, but I guess it being in two pieces the "feel" has already changed.

Here's one more. http://rodbuildersupplies.com/Butt_c...l_ferrules.pdf the sizes on this one are in decimels and not 64ths.

good luck

Thanks everyone. Great ideas!
I'm a DIY type so I might get my own ferrules and try doing it my self.
