Angry Trashed San Luis Pass !!?

Is it just me or are there alot of scum bags visiting the Pass and dumping there garbage on our favorite fishing spots. Visited the Pass consistently for years and have never seen the disrespect that is taking place. I witnessed 4 different vehicles with big groups of people just drive off and leave all their garbage (diapers, 12 pack boxes, cups, BOTTLES, cigarettes, fishing line, torn nets, broken lawn chairs, water melon rind, charcoal, and other C$#@$ ) Of course they didn't leave any cans because that was thier source of income for their 7 kids. It completely shames me to take my kids down there and see this. Is there anything we can do besides the obvious? Meaning legally!!

This last July my wife and son went there (North of the Bridge) hoping to enjoy a nice clean atmosphere and teach my son some things about sea life and all I could show him was "don't go over there", "there is glass", "stay away from that it looks like a dirty diaper" every where you looked there was trash!

After being there for a short while our trip was cut short after I stepped on some _ _ _ holes wine bottle and nearly cut the ball off of my left big toe. We had to load up and head straight to the hospital.

If you are too lazy to pick up your own garbage, may your next visit to the beach be a drowning one.

Unfortunately a lot of people are inconsiderate a**holes, the only thing you can do is confront them, which may not be the safest bet; although I do enjoy a little confrontation to give some dirt bag something to think about. When it comes to things like contaminating our bays and beaches we have to realize that nobody is going to respect these things like we do. Due to a shortage of beach patrol or wardens we as sportsmen are the last line of defense against scum that has no respect for the resources that we value. I am not saying that we should go after them with tire irons, but I think even the sorriest people can be shamed into acting right!

It's the ME mentality, the Human Element, He (chemical symbol). If you can throw babies out with the trash, what's a little beach clutter. After all the government can clean it up; by the way some one else is paying the taxes.

I'll have to jump in on this one. It disgusts me to see it as well. Before they closed off the flood gate in TC, i would sit there and watch 10 to 15 illegals throw cast nets, dig up oysters, dive for rock crabs and throw tons of beer cans and other trash on the ground with out any remorse at all about it. It drives me crazy. If you confront them then you have to deal with 15 of 'em that don't speak english. The game warden has caught them a couple times while i was there but all they did was make them put the oysters back. SCUMBAGS!

I recall hearing something a few years back. It was either in Corpus or San Antonio after a big parade.

Several people left their trash and where leaving, one individual asked why don't they take their trash with them and dispose of it properly.

The response was....
It was someones job to pick up trash and they didn't want that person to have nothing to do and possibly lose their job!

The response from a city official was that regular employess had to be taken off their normal jobs to pick up after a parade.

Angry They just don't care

I went to SLP for the first time this year in probably 10 years. Took my niece and nephews down there, as it is the only beach in Galveston area that still allows us to drive on it. Same thing! Trash everywhere. I don' t think the signs will do any good. Many of the people that are trashing it Just Dont care!!!
They disrespect the freedoms that they have found here. But its kind of like the snapper battle --- If there is no enforcement, they will just keep doing it. Maybe if I. N. S were to start patrolling SLP on the weekends they could fill up the buses and head back south. Do this a time or two and I bet the beaches might get better.
