ride Any Dual Sport Riders?

I just got back into riding after about 15 years. Grew up in the '70s riding "enduro" bikes. Rode them to school and work, rode organized enduros and hare scrambles. Owned a couple of Jap hot rod bikes in the early eighties and then me and my two boys rode dirt bikes for years. Bought the grandkids a couple of PW Yamahas last Christmas. Now I have a DR650 and a vintage Honda Elsinore MT250 enduro just like the one I bought in late '73. The 650 is a blast around town and on the dirt roads. The 250 is just for nastalgia.

yes I am one and love it.

I ride an old DR 200.

Its small but I am short so it fits me perfect.

I been to Big Bend on the jeep trails three times and keep it for that.

I am thinking about going again in the fall.
If you have a chance to ride in Big Bend and Terlingua I highly suggest it.

I camped out in the Basin for three nights and Terlingua for two. Its one of the best ways to do the back roads IMO. H

Yup!! I've had my XR650L for about 4 years now and love it. Mine spends most of it's time in the dirt, only because my choice of tires get expensive when it's time to replace them.

can't raise my sword arm

i have a 2006 klr , havent ridden much after the accident, aparently some times when you squeese the brake ,you give it gas i liked to nevr stoped that bike, came about 1 and a half foot from fence, befor stoping. real fast i figured i pulled a rotator cuff, did not have the $17,000.00 for operation, so it has taken me 4 months to get down to just 8 advil a day, from 2 oxy-cotton and 24 advil a day.now by gosh i am ready to ride some more, had a blast riding with my son last year, befor he had to go to afganastan he has a klr also, he comes back in about 60 days, oh! the sword arm,,thing thats what i told the doctor when he told me how much it woul cost to fix shoulder, i said well i just wont be able to raise my sword arm as high any more.

KLR 650 Dual Sport

Been riding now for 50 years!! My how time flies..1st. bike was an Allstate 175 (SEARS) when I lived in Alta Loma on the Hall's Bayou shell road. My dad would take it up to Gulfgate for repairs. Fast foward to now along with my Harley Road Glide is the alltime favorite of mine the KLR650. I now own my second one and riding justs gets better. My bucket-list trip to the border and ride the Big Bend in and around Mexico (832 miles) was a great trip. The KLR is an affordable bike with good mileage and lots of power for on and off road use. Would recommend it to anyone...plan on buying another soon for son. Nothing beats a father-son ride.

I just bought a Honda NC700X last month, and surely wish I had bought the Suzuki Dr650 instead. Maybe in another year or so.
