No sound on YouTube app

I have a Samsung Captivate phone with the Android Gingerbread 2.3.5 Firmware loaded on it. When watching You Tube videos through the app the sound will stop about half way through a video and then not play at all for any other videos (youtube) after that. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, but have the same problem which leads me to believe it is a phone/software problem.
Any thoughts, suggestions?
