"Black Saltys"......

do you recall those days folks....Home grown on the Anderson Farms in Ark? I helped give them away when they arrived here yrs. ago...Those were trial baits that were finally Tx approved....kind of went over like a lead brick didn't they!

I used them a few times when they had em in Surfside at Denvers bait. Caught some redfish with them. The problem with them was that they would die pretty quickly in saltwater. I recall them lasting about 10 to 15 minutes once you put one on the hook and chunked one out. They worked ok, but mullet was more practical when bait fishing. They were neat looking though. Like a black goldfish.

They are still the real deal for yellow cats on a trot line.

They also work decent on Striper when shad are impossible to find. But nothing beats a threadfin shad. Gizzards come in second.

I used to buy them at Gander Mountain on Cypresswood and 45. I'd use them for catfish.
