Need a little handgun help or advice here...

Guys..need a little input here.. Stumpy's Good Ol' Boys Veterans Hunt is coming up in a few months and I need some suggestions on prizes for Biggest Buck, Biggest Doe, Biggest Hog. Last year I chunked in 3 beautiful Heritage .45 cal nickel plated wooden grip revolvers that were a big hit, but this year between me and TexasT (Charles is my 'personal' FFL man who chips in his help for gratis) we can only find two of them in all of the suppliers...

My first question is..and would appreciate answers from current men in uniform...or former Vets..what would you prefer ? Would something like a wheel gun in 22LR or 22 mag be better for just playing and plinking...since ammo would be much cheaper ....or would you prefer something big like a 45 cal ? AKs are out since gov gives them those...and 1911s are also out in my mind.

Looking for something 'classy' and practical as well...and I lean heavily to wheel guns here...

Any suggestions or opinions much appreciated...

How about the Taurus Judge? Practical for home defense, snakes, etc.
Shoots 45's or 410's.

Good on ya, for your personnal commitment to Vets.
I'm sure they would all appreciate whatever you decide upon.
22LR is cheap to shoot, and fun w/ kids & grandkids. It is also a very effctive round at close range, if you intend it to be for protection.
A fine derringer comes to mind and as you put it, a wheel gun is where you are leaning.
