New to the area - suggestions wanted

I'm new to fishing the galveston complex and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on areas to target this time of year?

Looking to launch in Seabrook tomorrow morning for a full day, weather is looking perfect. I've heard the jetties are producing right now, was thinking of maybe targeting the seabrook flats as well?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The jetties are definately producing. If you wanna hit the jetties, save yourself some time and fuel and launch from the end of the Texas City Dike. There is a $5.00 fee to drive onto the dike, but its a very nicely done facility, with numerous boat ramps, port-o-johns, etc. The end of the dike boat ramp puts your right at 8 miles to the end of the jetties. Take some blue crabs and shrimp, and clean house on reds, black drum, and sheeps. Good luck!

I would go with the jetty too. The Gulf has been hot lately.

yeah if you plan on hitting the jetties, i would definitely get a lot closer before you put the boat in the water. you'll spend half your day crusing out and back, not to mention fuel will cost you a fortune. putting in at the dike would be smart as the amount of time it takes to put in any closer would make it a waste. plus, if you put in at the dike you could make a trip up to moses lake or try the big drum hole at the end of the dike. definitely grab some fresh bait but take some arties out just maybe to give yourself a variety. good luck! i'd be out there with you but our hydraulics went out yesterday so i'm stuck on land

Where did you fish before.. what bay or inland?

welcome to Galvatraz ... if you learn it, there are a lot of fish. It's one of the richest estuaries on the gulf coast.
