capt west was suggesting them at the fishing show. planned on getting a few bags at academy but been trying to stay outta that store. been doing pretty good, like 2 or 3 weeks. Feels like months.
The Mirrolure soft plastics are starting to dominate my soft plastic selection for wading, last Saturday we strung an ~80 pound stringer and 50% of them came off the Provoker. Once they're eating smaller baits, I'll throw some Lil Johns.
Oh they'll certianly eat'em now, but typically I find that in a manner of matching the hatch, it's better to start throwing smaller baits once the glass minnows and shrimp start hatching/filling the bays ... late spring early summer.
Right now, I'm all big bait big fish ... (the second part of that being the tough part!).
X2 on matching the hatch. When i was floundering the other night the water was teeming with glass minniws and fish fry...the flounder bellies were full of both, no big baitfish at all
we fish the little johns at least 50% of our plastic time. awesome baits. i personally think the purple is the best producing but pink is a close second. hold up real well when floundering.
