300 ultra custom loaded ammo

I was shooting federal premium ammo out of my ultra getting sub
Moa groups . Next two boxes groups went to hell 1 1/2 @ 100 . So I took my gun to mg armes to.check everything out on the gun, scope stock , bedding , crown . All where good to. Go. So. They loaded some custom ammo for my gun , it's 180 Barnes triple shock , 93 gr of IMR 7828 rem brass federal 215 primer 3.60 coal , they do 3 shot groups for load development .44 was the group they came up with , great . My one question is they are getting 3440 FPS out of a 26 " barrel , they are great gunsmiths and reloaders . These seam to very hot , I cant find this load data any where does any one shoot a 300 ultra? Also do not use this load resapie .

from my Barnes #4. Are you sure its 93 grains and not a load density of 93%? Looking at other powders with similar burn rates, that seems awfully hot, although some guns respond differently to certain loads. Does it kick considerably more? Is the muzzle blast noticeably louder? Does the barrel look like a refinery flare when fired? Is the bolt face marking the head? Flattened primers?
Edit: I see 8700 is falls side by side with 7828 on my burn rate chart and according to the manual has a starting load of 100 grains. Also, I'd like to think a reputable shop wouldn't risk a lawsuit selling "Hot Loads" to you.

Powder charge

This was what they put on the ballistic chart they gave me and I asked about it when I picked up the gun . 93 grains of IMR 7828 Remington brass and federal 215 primer coal 3.60 . 3440 FPS . They load Alot of Barnes bullets for there custom guns that they make . I will shoot them this weekend to see what they do . And report back

There is no free lunch. 2" of extra bbl isn't going to account for 310 fps extra, and the extra powder is another warning sign.

The 'classic' signs of pressure are risky as well, but not useless. Sticky bolt, cratered primers, etc. are signs of being way overpressure. Be careful!

Never tried that one. Mine shoots 96 grs of Retumbo and 180 or 150 gr Sirroccos pretty well with Rem primers and brass 3.60

Sub 1" at 100 yards.

Did you ever get resolution for your 93 grs?

Hot load !

the loads where OK just a little to hot for me , started rolling my own, the gun likes 210 bergers VLD with 93 gr of retumbo , shoots under .75 @ 100yrds , now adjusting seating depth to see if she will do any better

I have written down that recipe. I like the 150's and 180's at 96 gr of retumbo with sirocco bullets. They shoot with in an inch of each other with totally different loads. I would like to develop a 200-210 load with the same powder. I hope it is in the same POI as the 150 and 180.

Thx
