2006 F250 Rim and Tire Change

Ok today I went up from a 17" to 18" rims. I was wondering if anybody knew a cheaper way to get the speedometer right again. It is not that bad, called the dealership (Crosby Friendly Ford) and they said it would be $105 to come in and change the computer.

It is not neccessary to change, but if I found a cheaper I might consider it.

Thanks

I would either live with it or have the dealership fix it. Everything I know of out there will cost more than that to get and install.

Rim size doesn't really matter - rather it's the size and profile of the tire mounted to the rim.

In other words a 33 inch tire is a 33 inch tire whether it's sitting on a 15, 17 or 20 inch rim.

So, did you go up in tire size? (Guessing you did).

I'd recommend a tuner. Obviously you get the performance tunes, but it can also change tire size/ratio, can read codes and change shift points.

you can get a programmer for around $100 from super chips that only corrects the spedo, and you can reset it whenever you want to change sizes. Or spend 200 more and have a programmer.
