No I have a 18 gallon tank on my boat so 80 miles round trip is about my limit I would say. Talked to Donny couple of weeks ago we might put a bigger tank in it soon. I would like to take a run on one of those fast boats though just for fun. I guess I will see you in POC got about a 30 mile run out of there to my spots i fish in that area.

I guess what I am saying is I would like to see the tournaments spread out, maybe something like 2 north, 2 south and a championship in the middle. Oh wait, we have been asking for that for years, yet no tournament wants to do this?

Sabine
Freeport or Matty
Port O' Connor or Lavaca (Championship)
Corpus
Mansfield / S Padre

Count them, 2 north, 2 south, 1 in the middle

What an idea huh??? It covers the entire Texas coast, and would challange all of the anglers skills in different types of ecosystems. Keep boundaries for each one. Seems to me this would be the ultimate test!

RedAg,

I think all the tournament schedules released so far have done a better job of covering more of the coast for 2010. XRT, HTCUP and Redfish Series are all spread out better but, all are going to Corpus as well. The turnouts and the fishing there along w/ the facilities are just too good to ignore!

What do I care though, owning a temp agency in this economy is killing me and I probably will be on the sidelines again in 2010!

If you are headed north there is a gas station about 30mi. up the coast, if going south no bueno until mansfield. If you need to know where all the on the water gas stations are just pm me, as I believe I have visited all of them from corpus to sabine at one time or another in tournaments.

Sounds like most teams run 2 boats? Maybe I should do the same?

Rat Daddy, we run our 16ft skiff 40 miles one way all the time, it just depends if you can find a gas station... If I run from m37 to the landcut and back I have about 2 gallons of fuel to spare.. Just know your range and be safe in the open water in that small of a boat.

Well thanks guys for the info. I ran from Bluffs this weekend to where Alizan Bay starts then to the boat hole then to Bluffs and used 12 gallons of fuel so think I have a little bit better range than what I was thinking that I had. Fishing was still very very tough there in Corpus this weekend (for me anyhow).
