My pvc is 34 and 1/4 inches of
thin wall 3/4 WITH the coupling on the end. The coupling will slip up over the black plastic up to the light this way.
Go down to the water and see what the prop does. I think some of my uniqueness was due to the Tothatsu being mounted in the bottom mounting hole.
Donny likes this high mount because when you show boats all day it it easier to have it mounted 3 or 4 inches high so it takes less adjustment. My boat runs out of water about 4 on the jackplate but if the motor was dropped to the usual mount holes you have two more inches to run in. May if I ever get down there get it moved to a middle hole but in the bottom mount It will be hard to run the motor over stuff since it sits about even with the bottom of the boat.
This bottom hole mount may be the problem that I had with the 3 blade powertech 15 pitch over running the 5850 max rpm as I am the only one that had this problem. Runs great now with the Baumann rework.
Being slightly OC with perfectionist tendencies I have played with most items that I have placed on the boat or looked at placing.
Fire Ext mounts in the bottom left inside cornor of the console. for me Throw pillow/seat will fit between the console and the front seat. Mine has small tie wrap to keep it there. Found some plastic rectangle food storage containers that keep the stuff straight in the leaning post compartment. Remember no safety gear come with the boat.
BE SURE to ask what wrench fits your motor. First time out I had to do some adj on the Tohatsu motor and it was hard to do with out the right size MM wrenches or socket set. Good thing that I used to instrument fit before dental school. I was Brown and Root Rigging at my best.
Was there a spare al prop that came with your motor? If so buy the hub kit and get a spare locking nut kit depending on what the yama has. Crown nut and carterpin?
If the boys are getting a spare for the Tohatsu then get them today. The crown nut and washer and darn near impossible to find in Houston. Ask me I know. I was nervous every thie I was in shallow water changing props out.
I had Donny get me a spare set this week along with some window screws for the drop down window that I have on my boat.
I was ****** at the Halloween music my neighbor had on last week after an hour of it blasting and did not drop the window and rail support and had to redo them after I pushed the boat into my garage. I was stupid on this. Neighbor has sign shop so easy enough to glue the broken section back with his thin superglue but a pain to take the supports off after bend them back up and going out to reweld them. Not hard just stupid and a pain on my part. PLUS you cannot get the plastic window screws. If you get the drop down window be sure to remember to drop it down.
If getting a Tohatsu go on and buy a case of oil from Donny today. Another item that is it better to get today than look for it. The first 10 hours the motor really uses a lot of oil.
Give me a shout if you need any pxs on how I did my poor boy mount of things on the boat or a question on what is working for me.
I love my little red boat.
Donny is good people.
