Quick Duck Hunt Before Class 11/3
Went out this morning to one of my buddies farm tanks that I've been scouting for awhile about 15 miles outside of College Station. He deer hunts so he let me go out there this morning before I had to run to class. It was a blue bird morning with no wind definitely not ideal conditions, but hey it was my first chance to get out this season so i'll take it. I used a very small spread, around 8 decoys and a mojo. I was all set up by 545. All the ducks were very willing to drop in and were very receptive to calling. Shot all the ducks before 7:30. Used 5 shells and ended up with 3 gadwall and 2 widgeon, not bad for my first time to pick my gun up since last season. Also worth noting i saw close to 500 hundred geese flying high. For the most part they looked to by canadas but im not positive. All in all it was a great day especially getting to watch the sun rise, it does wonders for the soul. Also if you are wondering why one of my gadwall looks a little funny its bc i d*mn turtle ate part of it off. At least thats what I think did it.
