snapper Heading out of Snoopy's in Corpus on Sat.

My brother, buddy, and myself are heading out of Snoopy's boat drop on Saturday, and maybe Sunday to hit up the rigs out there. If anybody has any tips or spots their willing to disclose that would be great. I am still a Novice at best, and am familiar with the first set of rigs about 4 and 8 miles out.

Jim are you scuba or spearfishing. What are you looking for? Most to near shore rigs have probably been fished to death by every cookie cutter skiff that went out last weekend on the .5' seas. Probably gunna be really cramped and probably over fished. If you're looking to do some spearing, I'm debating on taking the ferry to St. Joes in Port A to try the north Jettie which doesn't get the same fishing pressure the south Jetty does. Isn't that boat ramp Marker 37 or Butlers? I went to school with his daughter Tasha

We are snorkeling so of course that limits my depth to about 18’ of effective diving, and using double banded spear guns. We are running a 17’ boat, so the weather is going to play a big part on just where exactly we can go. If the seas are too high I may just go hit up the jetties on St. Joe. I am going after just about whatever I can get really; mutton snapper, sheep’s head, barracuda, and small ling. It is my buddies boat and he is only willing to go about 8 miles out, and we do have gps.

No ling inside of 9 miles! Texas say's they are a game fish. I've got a guy that's picking up my chopper, Shoot me a PM I'd gladly throw a couple $$ in for a ride to St. Joes. I actually saw alot of fish, just didnt' have my gun at the port a jetties. Much larger sizes then at Packery. however in the Am I could have shot 30 mangroves! i just felt bad after shooting three and wanted to leave some for another day.
