pelagic things

Summer is not really my favorite time of year to fish. One thing I do like about it is, you never know what the next cast might bring. Weds morn was a case in point. After a slow day with arties on tues, 1 trout and 1 red, I decided to pick up a pint of shrimp and see what was out there. Ended up with 3 hardheads, 1 24" 5.3lb trout, 1 22" red and 3 breakoffs. One of the breakoffs was a big skipjack, another had to have been a big jack, and the 3rd must have been either a mac or a shark. Oh yeah, 1 other fish came off that I'm pretty sure was a big trout. Anyhow, no big cooler, but an interesting day with moments of excitement. Fishing the EP area from 6-9:30 on an outgoing tide. By the way, the 2 fish I caught on tues both came on a BA in slammin chicken. Thinking that color pattern might have some potential. Never got a hit on anything else.
