Thanks Strong SE wind. Water looks good. Little rough. Strong current east to west. Some weed but overall fishable if u don't mind working a little. 3 rd cast caught a Pompano.

Pompano like green water. I may have to go wet a hook!

Thanks for the report. Surfside is one of my favorite spot to fish the surf. Man, I gotta get out there soon! Tight lines!

Surfside

Thanks for the report. Heading over there Monday as forecast.....at least for now.....predicts low winds and some blue-green water. Should be good if the weed is not too bad.
Good fishing!

Ok. Just got home. After a few hours of battling the waves, which were not huge, but big enough you had to put out some effort, I got tired of just catching whiting. After the Pompano, it was all whiting, nothing else.

I intended catching bait with the cast net, but as a back up, I bought some fresh dead shrimp. No bait to be seen in the surf. Nada, nothing, so used the shrimp. Water was fairly clear. I could see my feet in 2 feet of water. Water temp was a little cool at first, but by noon, not bad at all. Weed was moderate. Not as bad as it gets, but enough to be a mild pain in the a**. I took a few pics. 1st is the Pompano. Then some of all the washed up trees, limbs, and weed.

The traffic when I left was backed up over the Inter Coastal Bridge for at least 2 miles.

Thanks for the report. I have noticed when the water is that clear that there is very little bait in the water.

Very little bait would be an over statement. I saw zero bait. No mullet, no shad, no bait fish whatsoever.
