West Bay 4/4
Lately I have been launching right after the rains. Both Monday and today.
Monday was awesome. Little 13yr old Abby was puttin it on her parents. She made all of her own casts and hooked up with at least 10 reds (3 slots) and several trout including 2 keepers to 3.5 lbs. The gafftop and black drum were hungry also. Her parents didnt get any keepers to the boat but they both manged to land undersize trout and reds along with a variety of other species. The wind blew hard that day so we were stuck in the back lakes. But the fish were hungry and it was a great catching day. Sorry no pics just finally bought my new camera on Tuesday.
Today was a little slower but with almost the same results. Redfish, black drum, gafftop and a few keeper specks. Definitely not as many reds as Monday! However we did find some birds working hard right after the rain/hurricane blew thru but unfortunately it was all dinks and gaffers. We hammered them for about 30 minutes till they finally dissipated. We spent half the day at Harborwalk watching the lightning but we still had a great time.
All fish were caught on midcoast corks and live shrimp.
Tight lines!
