Big ugly baits

Okay so I know the go to bait is crab.
When I lived in VA, a lt of big uglies were caught using clam.
Thoughts on clam for big uglies?
Not sure where to even get some around here.

Clam was THE bait for the drum run when I was a kid on the gulf coast of Florida. We'd pop them with a hammer and leave most of the shell on. Can't imagine why it wouldn't slay 'em here, too.

Clams, shrimp, crab, crawfish, mullet... It all works. They're big uglies! People even catch them on soap! Use whatever you can get your hands on!

I do not know where to get clam. If they work, easy to get and are cheaper then crabs great. Post up and let us know. Ghost shrimp are the best bait for them, like candy to big uglys, but are hard to come by.
