Diamonds are forever...

...at least that is what they say. I work overseas on a drilling rig so I decided to bring my hand wrapper over with me to get some practice in. I think my favorite wrap to do is something with a fade in it. I don't ask for much. But here is a plain diamond done with 6 shades of Madeira. I didn't do the math for measuring and just went off of 1" squares. I guess it is time to cut it off, get out my Clemens book and start something else. Only 3 weeks left.

It's on my 2' scrap piece. With the conflict over here in Israel, they might think I was bringing in destruction in rod tubes.

That would have been a nice one to close with another pattern in the open area. Four smaller diamonds would have fit nicely into the openings. Beautiful work BTW.

Like Mark said. Keep your head down. It is good to keep practicing even though you can't do a complete rod.
Good luck.

Looking Good!

Where are you getting away with your art work - galley, rec room, Safety Office or rig floor? Do one for my guys in Red and Grey or the Schlumberger guys in blue and white and name your price. Mr. Company Man or Tool Pusher will want a part of your action! Keep her turning to the right! Stop at the duty free store and bring back some Kuwaiti 23 kt gold thread - if on your tab about four pounds would be nice.
