Question Ingersol Air Comp Problem ?

I have a about a 6 month old 60 gal comp and the problem is when its empty it runs fine but when it starts to get full it sounds like it wants to lock up and not finish filling I called ingersol and got a bunch of trouble shooting ideas and we can put u on the list to come check it. I checked the voltage its correct they said make sure head bolts were tight I did that it has oil like it should. I pulled the one way valve out and it seems to move fine

Are you running it plugged in directly to an outlet, or through an extension cord? My compressor seems to struggle at times when using an extension cord, as it nears the max pressure set point, like the load is more than the extension cord can handle. Just a thought.

Maybe the belt slipping when it is running under more load as the compressor builds up some pressure.

you can adjust presure it cuts off at reduce it down to lowest pressure you need. when is the last time you drained water out of the tank? if tank has a lot of water causes all kinds of problems.

Most likely low voltage. IR compressors like big wire. If you're hooked to a small gauge wired outlet, you're dropping way too much voltage when it starts drawing a lot of current. Easy enough to check. Just hook a volt meter to the outlet and when it starts loading up, look at the voltage.
