well it's true i guess about what they say,if you take care of thing's they last a lifetime.
i built this rod approx 30 plus year's ago for a friend and his wife, the deal was they were our fishing buddy's and my wife wanted to give jimmy's wife wanda a grouper rod that i built for xmas so of course i built it. now at this time i was just doing this kinda for friends and myself nothing on any lrg scale by any mean
s at that time we were grouper fishing every chance we could and even on day's when we should have stayed home.
well of course over the years we lost contact then on tue of this week i get a phone call from a charter guy that say's his wife has a custom billystix and she love's it but it need's a repair, well i asked him when i built it for her because i had no record of the build, he said that he had bought a boat several years ago from a guy in his town on the coast and every thing went with it including rods, so his wife latched on to the billystix and has been using it for the last 10 or so years, but now it needs a bit of minor repair, when he told me who he bought the boat from i just about fell over, but when i saw this rod and the condition it is in i almost could no belive my eye's for this rod to be 30 t0 35 years old and still going strong.

just thought i would share, kinda made my week if you know what i mean
