Bayou Vista Fishing 7/2 AM

I'm going to be staying at a friends house in Bayou Vista this weekend. We have a boat and want to catch some specks/reds. Can anyone give us some advice on where to fish around that area. Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. B

I caught some specs under the causeway at night last Friday using salt water assasins the red and white no luck with live shrimp.

Brack,

The reds are in jones lake, also some flounder there. Trout are spotty at best unless is very early, before 9 am. If you fish jones lake, either key in on the center or the marsh. I live in bayou vista and ive been hearing alot about the reds in the marsh lately.

This morning we threw topwater and soft plastics with just a few hits to show. I would try using shrimp and mullet.
