Who else made the Goe Harley Davidson toy run today ?
Did anybody else do the Goe Harley Davidson toy tun today ? Me and my better-half Cindy made the run Along w/ 249 registered bikes we rode from Angleton to the Freeport Municipal park to deliver a trailer load full of toys and a lowboy loaded w/ bicycles. These toys will be delivered to the less fortunate kids this holiday season I did'nt take a bunch of photos, but there were bikes as far as the eye could see w/ oncomeing traffic pulled over until we passed. There were also people on the sides of the road takeing photos and waveing as we passed. It was definately a sight to see and special to be a part of what took place today. Here's a photo of Cindy before we took off......I did'nt figure anyone would want to see my ugly mug. LOL

Did y'all go out 2611 and then down 36? I was coming back from East Matty around 1:30 or so. What's oncoming traffic really supposed to do? I slowed way down and rode half way on my shoulder yet there was one guy on a bike trying to wave everyone over by himself. I was like good luck with that dude. I figure if they wanted oncoming traffic completely stopped, all the constables would have done just that.
Btw, that WAS A LOT OF BIKES!

If you saw 2 plus miles of bikes.....that was us.I was pretty busy watching the idiot in front of me. LOL Me and Cindy knew right away that we had better be on our toes when the guy in front of us locked up his rear break when comeing to a stop.LOL Anyone that has any experiance rideing knows that 80% of your stopping power is in the front break.Geeeshhhh....you sure can spot the newbies right quick. LOL

Yep ! Newbies in the back w/ one experianced guy behind them, that's not in a hurry, to keep an eye on them.
With the group of guys that I ride w/ , we have a certain position that everyone has.I'm usually 2nd or 3rd behind the lead bike.Depending on how many we have riding, we start w/ the most experianced filtering down to the newbs and then put 1 ....maybe 2 experianced guys behind them.
I know one thing is for sure....I don't enjoy a ride when I'm behind an idiot or a newb.

I don't mind taking up the last position ...i like keeping traffic off of my podnuh's...and i DON'T ride with newb's with the rest of the gang involved.. i gotta check them out a few rides before we cut'em loose "and that's ONLY if they have some sense"! I don't mind Lead Dawg every once in a while but that is a lot of work so i sit in #2 position or follow up ! : ] Oh, Idiot's GO AWAY as soon as i get them pulled over---they find their OWN way home!

LOL....Roger That ! I don't really enjoy being " Lead Dawg " either, but will if my best friend ( the lead dawg ) isn't on the ride.
We have a friend that is a new rider and is getting some good experiance rideing w/ us.He's doing a fine job and getting plenty of experiance from us coaching him.He makes us feel pretty comfortable as he is a sensible rider that has proven he can handle his bike He's the type of person that we enjoy haveing w/ us and he's really gotten into rideing.
That's what it's all about...isn't it !

Good Job, it makes for a comfortable ride when everybody know's how everybody around them will react to traffic problems!
