Your thoughts on this years LSR...

Not sure of the number of bikes at this years rally but, the number of bikes on the Strand Saturday was unbelievable. I have attended this rally since it first began. This year seemed a mess to me. Getting on and off the Strand was a nightmare. I got caught up in the traffic trying to move my bike over to where friends were located and overheard the Galveston PD wanting to shut the whole thing down Saturday night. Why did they not have vendors setup on the Seawall this year? And what was up with the ‘Rally to Rebuild’ shirts being back this year? ‘Rally to Rebuild’ was last year’s theme. We managed to have a good time but thought the rally this year was poorly managed. What do ya’ll think?

Dont know about "how it was managed", but we had one hellova good time. Saturday was a lot more crowded than Friday - as expected. When I left on Saturday (about 4:00), the strand was more crowded than I had ever seen it in all my years - even Madri Gras. Paying 10.00 to park on the next street over kinda pizzed me off...could have done that for free. I dont think they anticipated the crowd this year, but hopefully will be better prepared next year.

I agree with ya WB3, it did seem a little unorganized this year but hopefully next year will be better. I went out on friday and there werent a whole lot of bikes, but still alot.I was expecting saturday to be nuts and it was, i had alot of fun well from what i can remember at least . Me and a buddy drove the truck out on sunday instead of riding cause he wanted more free cigarettes and i wanted some more free grizzly, there where still more people down there than i thought there would be. It looked more like a family day to me though, alot of folks that didnt look like they rode where there with flip flops and galveston texas shirts.

Oh yeah, Saturday was packed. We had a good time. I just don't see this event getting any better by keeping it restricted to the Strand.

Free cigarettes!!! Dang! I missed out. LOL
